1.1 What is Xreveal?

Xreveal is a Windows based application similar to AnyDVD that removes restrictions of DVD, and Blu-ray media automatically in the background.

1.2 Is there a Linux version? Or a version for macOS?

We're currently working on it but can't give a release date.

1.3 My antivirus software has identified a threat in Xreveal.

Xreveal is 100% virus-free, adware-free, malware-free, and spyware-free. Xreveal has also has been independently verified as "100% clean" by Softpedia.

However, some antivirus software may incorrectly identify components within Xreveal as a threat. These warnings are a false positive.

1.4 Can I use Xreveal without an internet connection?

Yes, an internet connection is not required if Xreveal can retrieve the disc key locally.

For Pro users, once you have inserted a disc, Xreveal will automatically save the disc key to the 'My Discs' local database, opening the disc again later will prioritize using the key in 'My Discs'.

1.5 What is your refund policy?

No refund policy.

Xreveal is sold as "try-before-you-buy" software, you can try most of it's functionality that is free. Please consider purchasing the software after you have used it carefully, and feel that it's perfect for you, and that it's helpful.

1.6 Do I need an internet connection to activate Xreveal Pro?

No.

2.1 I can't remove BD+, Xreveal won't remove it, but it worked before.

This is a limitation for free users. The removal of BD+ protection feature can be used for free one day every three days.

2.2 How to submit the disc metafile?

Click "Metafile submission" in Settings > Status page to create a metafile.

Pro users could submit metafile directly in software, or you can submit manually.

The generated metafile is in the %tmp%/Xreveal/ directory. When the Metafile submission dialog is closed, the generated metafile will be automatically deleted.

2.3 What can I do when encountering a disc that won't open?

Please submit the metafile or the purchase link from websites like Amazon or www.blu-ray.com. Thank you.

Pro users could submit the metafile directly in thesoftware, or you can submit manually.

A metafile is an encrypted jar file that contains information such as disc data snapshots, drive models, and software settings. It's used only by our developers to diagnose issues. We will not share any collected metafile files with third parties.

2.4 What can I do when encountering a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)

This issue is usually caused by antivirus software. If your computer has third-party antivirus software installed, try turning off the antivirus software and try again with Xreveal.

If still BSOD, please remove the disc in the drive and restart the computer.

If Windows can start successfully, please send the files in C:\Windows\Minidump\ to [email protected], thank you.

If still BSOD, please start Windows in Safe Mode, then delete C:\Windows\System32\xreveal.sys, restart computer. Send the files in C:\Windows\Minidump\ to [email protected], thank you.

2.5 Verified keys failed

If the key was retrieved from keydb.cfg, it is possible that the key in keydb.cfg is incorrect. For example: the disc key of JFK(DiscID:F8B5C93800D376E080A4185685851D706F26BC2C) in keydb.cfg is incorrect.

Failed to open disc, error code: 1c00000.

Q: Why does this happen?
A: We guess it's caused by LibreDrive. LibreDrive will obfuscate VID. After the VID is obfuscated, other APPs will get an incorrect VID by AACS-Auth even through AACS-Auth.

Solution:

  1. Exit MakeMKV if it's running
  2. Eject the disc
  3. Restart Xreveal and insert the disc

If the problem persists, please submit the metafile.

3.1 I lost my license key, how to resend it?

If you lose your license key, we can resend it to you via email: Find my lost Xreveal license key.

3.2 How to change a licensed email to a new email?

Please contact [email protected] with your current licensed email, and provide with new licensed email.

3.3 If I use my lifetime Pro license on 3 different computers, and uninstall it from one of them, can I now install the license to another one?

Yes.

If you don't want to uninstall Xreveal, you can click Settings - About - Unregister.

3.4 I didn't receive the license key email after purchasing.

Double-check the email address you entered when you paid, and make sure it is correct. If you paid with PayPal to check the email address associated with PayPal, in case they are different.

Check your email Spam or Junk folders. Sometimes the license key email is marked as Spam.

If after 15 minutes you still have not received the key email please contact [email protected], we will be happy to resend your license key.

If you still haven't received a reply in one working day, maybe your mailbox has blocked the emails we sent. We suggest you use another e-mail to contact us.

3.5 Is there a limit to how many times I can use my license key?

No activation limit, but only if you are the only user of Xreveal.

One single-user license can only be used on up to three computers. You can uninstall Xreveal to deactivate on the old computer. If you don't want to uninstall Xreveal, you can click Settings - About - Unregister. Then register on the new computer.

3.6 Why was my license key invalid?

The license key may be blacklisted.

Reasons for key blacklisting:

  1. The license key was available on pirate servers (for free download).
  2. Overcome the number of licensed users.
